In spite of the Court of Appeal order preventing the immediate arrest of Pastor Fernando upon his return to the country Pastor Fernando was arrested following a declaration in the CID on the 1st of December 2023.
The issue first caused anger when a clip of the sermon was shared on social media, which led to a police report. Legal proceedings are in progress as Pastor Fernando was placed in a remand order until December 13 and is facing charges relating to obstructing religions and a possible investigation into financial transactions.
