Jocelyn Morlock, a Canadian musician, passed away at the age of 53.
Morlock, a Vancouver resident who was a product of Winnipeg’s St. Boniface neighborhood, was well-known both for her work as a composer and an educator.

Canadian Music Centre’s BC Director, Sean Bickerton, made a remark. “Jocelyn was a national treasure, an example, someone whose laugh brightened everyone’s day, and whose profound and steadfast dedication to enlightened ideals was exemplary.
She contributed significantly to Canadian music, this country’s cultural and social fabric, our shared passion of birds, and many other areas.
She went on to receive both a master’s and a doctorate of musical arts from the University of British Columbia after receiving a B.Mus from Brandon University. She composed music and had a significant teaching career. Her contributions and partnerships impacted numerous groups across Canada.
